I am a member. Why am I required to purchase a ticket for Friday Opening Evening?
Thinking Autism members need to book their ticket and confirm attendance through the standard booking procedure. We are unable to process reservations in a different way. If you are a member of Thinking Autism, you will receive a full refund for your purchased ticket shortly after attending the event. Please note that refunds can only be issued to members who attend the event, or to those who cancel their booking no later than 9 May 2019.
Do You offer student discounts?
Students can purchase tickets at discounted fees. in order to qualify please make sure to use your student/university-liked email address when registering. We may ask you to provide additional evidence of student status at a later stage.
What is your refund policy?
Tickets cancelled no later than five business days before the event will be refunded with a £10 processing fee. We cannot offer refunds for tickets cancelled after 9 May 2019.
Can non-delegates attend Saturday evening dinner event?
If a conference delegate wants to bring along a partner to this event, he or she may purchase a ticket for that guest; however, the evening events are for delegates and their guests only.
Is there at disabled access at the venue?
All rooms have disabled access and there is a lift to all floors.
Can you cater for special dietary requirements for conference lunch options?
The conference rate includes a light lunch, plus refreshments during the breaks. We have done our best to provide a lunch menu that has gluten-free and vegetarian options; however, we are unable to meet other dietary restrictions or preferences. Please feel free to bring your own food into the conference if you have dietary needs that we will not be able to accommodate – or if you’re just a very hungry person!
I would like to attend, but I cannot afford the cost of the ticket. Can you help?
If you are a person with autism, the parent/carer for someone with autism, or someone otherwise involved in the autism community and have financial constraints that would prevent you from attending our conference, please contact us and we will do our very best to help out.
Do I need to bring a printed ticket?
We will have your name on the door, but please bring the ticket along, if you are able to print it at home.
I am a member. Can I purchase more than one ticket at members’ discounted fees?
As a member of TA you are entitled to buy a second conference ticket at the members’ discounted price.
Can I bring children to the event?
We realise that finding childcare is often a difficult challenge for parents; however, this event is not appropriate for children. We cannot provide childcare, nor is there space to accommodate children.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. However, if someone else is coming instead of you, you must let us know by email.

I need to find accommodation for the weekend. How can I do that?
Once you have purchased your conference tickets, you will receive information about the venue and nearby accommodation. We encourage you to book your accommodation at that time.
Can tickets be purchased at the door?
Yes, subject to availability. However, booking in advance is recommended, as we cannot guarantee that there will be spaces available at the door.
Can I buy a recording of the conference?
We will not be recording the conference, nor is recording allowed. We strongly encourage people who are able to attend in person to do so as the benefits of the conference are many. Of course, there is much to be learned from the presentation; however, delegates will also have the chance to meet and learn from people in their community, from exhibitors, and establish or strengthen supportive relationships.
