‘Medical Comorbidities in Autism – A Primer for Health Care Professionals and Policy Makers’

Many medical conditions and health problems are significantly more prevalent in individuals with autism of all age groups. The fast-changing research literature is summarised in this document in order to aid understanding of the possible mechanisms, symptoms, behaviours and other possible consequences of comorbid and underlying medical conditions in autism, thus enabling improved health care and enhanced quality of life for people with autism.
